About Us

Bio.
Michael H. Taylor, MD was born in England, received his Medical training in England and Canada and uses his many worldwide travels as a way to explore other cultures and their values as it affects our lives, health and ill-health.

He practiced as a Gynecologic Oncologist for 22 years before closing his practice in 2001 to learn and teach more about the power of the mind and body in the healing process and the integration of Complementary Healing practices working together with Traditional Medicine.
He leads retreats nationwide and internationally alone and with other Yoga Teachers and Physicians emphasizing the integration of Yoga into our lives and in healing and the prevention and recovery from illness. He was a founding teacher of The Sacramento Yoga Center, through which he taught yoga, meditation and Stress Reduction.

He has studied Yoga and Meditation with many teachers of various disciplines allowing him to share and teach through a diverse and joyful personal experience. Recently, he has spent many enjoyable hours learning Vinyasa Flow Yoga from Shiva Rea.

He received his Yoga Teacher training with Joseph Le Page of Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT). He has completed Level 2, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy and completed a two week residential training for Yoga Therapy with IYT.

He has participated in two professional training programs led by Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli from the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts.
He continues an active and ongoing personal retreat practice to maintain his skills and experience.

He was Medical Editor of Yoga Journal from 2000 though 2002 and currently is Medical Director of The Integrative Healing Center, an organization focusing on education for the prevention and recovery from illness and disease through lifestyle modification, stress reduction, including meditation and yoga, nutrition and other Complementary Medical Healing Practices
Through the Integrative Healing Center he also teaches & coaches personal health and recovery programs for those recovering from any illness not limited to cancer.
