Committing to an every Sunday class was hard for me and also to others. We all have busy, fun and full lives and so I would like to suggest a regular schedule that we can put on the calendar and see how it works for the next three months –till the end of the year.
There will be classes the FIRST & THIRD Sundays of each month starting October until December.

I will ask you to commit to a monthly “package” of $25 for both that months classes, payable at the first class.
There will be a limit to the class size.
Sound good? Feed-back always appreciated. Please let me know to sign up as soon as you can.
The dates will be;
October 5th & 19th.
November 2nd & 16th
December 7th & 21st.
4. Silent All-Day Retreat. Sunday October 12th. 9;00am – 4;00pm.
This Silent All-Day Retreat is a beautiful part of the 8-week Stress Reduction Program. There are two yoga practices, one in the morning (gentle flow) and one in the afternoon (slow Yin). The remainder of the day is spent in silent sitting or walking meditation. There is the opportunity for discussion at the end. A light afternoon tea will be provided at the end! NEW!
Cost $45. There is a limit to class size. At my home studio.
5. Holiday Retreat - Working with the emotions. Saturday November 1st. 12;30pm – 5;00pm
The end of the year is filled with the many emotions of the Thanksgiving, Christmas and other Celebrations including the ending of the Year and bringing in the New Year.
These can be emotional times. We would like to think happy & joyful but this is not always so!
Learning to work with the flow of the emotions using the insightful and compassionate practices of yoga & meditation can make these holidays a delight and a joy to remember.
This 4-1/2 hr. retreat will focus on the experience and the flow of the emotions using yoga practices, meditation and dialogue. There will be the opportunity for discussion and journaling.
Cost $45. There is a limit to class size. At my home studio.
6. Introduction to Meditation & yoga. Saturday, January 10th, 2009. 1;00pm – 5;00pm.
Further information to follow. Just wanted to put the date and the commitment on the calendar.
This will precede the Next 8-week Mindfulness based Stress Reduction program that will start in January – probably switching to Tuesdays as I hear, through the grapevine, that Elizabeth Lundeen’s Tuesday Yoga Class at Johnson Ranch is being switched to Wednesdays – more to follow on days and dates.

Thanks again for all your support. It is surely a delight!

"Introduction to Meditation & Yoga."
Saturday, January 10th, 2009.

8-week Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction program.
The next Eight week series will start Tuesday, January 13th. 6:30pm - 9:00pm
The silent All-Day Retreat will be on Sunday, February 15th. 9;00am - 4:00pm
8-week Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction program,
This program, with yoga, is the cornerstone of our philosophy.
Simply stopping and sitting. Taking the time to learn to be present, to yourself – how am I actually breathing, sensing, feeling or thinking – every moment. Asking with interest, enquiry. Not judgment or criticism. The ability to be awake and truly alert.
The more we are present, the quicker we are able to see when we have gone deep into fear and doubt and worry and anxiety…….. All creating stress – in the mind and then in the body. Initially maybe in small ways, but maybe later with some larger more impacting effect on the body.
80 – 90% of all “illnesses” are initiated by “Stress.” The more time we can actually be present to “stress” we can start to unravel the impact of this damage in an open way rather than running away, hoping it will disappear. It won’t! The body does not lie.

Cost is $360 for first-time participants. $260 for those repeating.
This is a very powerful program and can have a major impact in all phases of your life – personal, relational, physical, emotional and functional.
I encourage you to make this gift to yourself.

All-Day Retreat. Sunday, February 15th
This silent all-day retreat of meditation and yoga is open to anyone to attend.
The day is held in silence. There are two yoga practices (led by myself) with the rest of the day spent either in sitting or walking meditation. No meditation instruction is given, so some experience in meditation is suggested but not absolutely necessary.
This is a beautiful, potentially life-changing experience held in my home studio and garden. The garden has been completely redesigned and re-built with a Labyrinth based on the labyrinth from Chartres Cathedral.
I encourage you strongly to come and experience the beauty and healing power of silence and stillness.

Meditation CD's or Yoga videos
The new "Gentle Yin Yoga" CD is now available.
There are two 76 minute series on two CD's. Each series is different. The first Series also has a small break about half-way that one could stop there.
The cost is $15 including Sales tax. Mailing is $1.

I look forward to seeing you during the year.
Remember, it's a practice.
Simply being awake, being present to the beauty of your life, this world and all around! Honor that

Michael

Our Philosophy

Welcome to The Integrative Healing Center, a center without walls, both structurally and philosphically.

Healing, or the recovery from illness, trauma or any life-changing event requires energy, time and commitment.

Healing is also not spontaneous, occuring overnight.

It has taken us many years to even question the need for healing, but something, some awareness or consciousness, some incident eventually knocks us on the shoulder and indicates - it is time.

The Integrative Healing Center focuses on the practices of insight and contemplation, enquiry and reflection. All with a focus that we were born "Whole" and the need to heal (from the Anglo-Saxon word - Haelan; to become whole) is actually just returning to who we already are; if we can stop, be still and pay attention to that which we already intuitively know.

The basis of our practices and teaching is Yoga & Meditation, intricately related to each other, never separate, always co-existing; just pay attention. We learn in both practices to pay attention. Attention to all the layers of our being, the physical and the energetic, the mental and the emotional, our own inate intuitiveness and self-knowledge, our own ability to heal, both in our bodies natural self-healing ability and in the our mental and emotional experiences.

This is true Integration. To reconnect to that which is already connected before we became "separated."

How this takes place within our teaching is exposure to philosophies and experience of Yoga and Meditation in several formats;
Yoga classes; both private and group.
Meditation classes in an 8-week repeating series.
Retreats either involving the yoga & meditation practices alone or together.
Private "Integrative" Yoga; an opportunity to explore both Yoga & Meditation alone with Michael, with support and feedback, based on observations and awareness that you personally identify.
All the above is inter-twined with the need for appropriate attention to nutrition and other complementary practices that we have access to with referral

A description of the various classes, workshops, retreats and personal healing practices that are currently available can be reached by the icons on the left column.
I look forward to seeing you in one of the classes.

Michael
